Based on what everybody can determine, he had a medical emergency, got in his car to self-transport to the hospital, and single-car t/c. He was dead on arrival. Comey will be on televisions, radio, podcasts…anything that keeps him in the public eye. Big Jim (I demand a trial) Comey doesn’t know how many people have testified against him in the grand jury proceeding that led to his indictment. His “it’s my word against yours” in an open court proceeding before a petty jury is a much easier sell than “it’s my word against theirs.” I expect him to cut a plea deal for no time in custody when it comes down to it. If he takes it to trial and loses, it’s 85% of ten years in an orange jumpsuit. He’s 64 years old. He doesn’t want to spend the remaining good years of his life locked in the hole (protective custody). They could send him to Black Canyon, AZ – prison for snitches and dirty cops, but he could also go some place worse than that.
Given the judge who caught the case, he won’t go jury trial.

I am also reminded of a story about my late father, said story told to me by him. He was in his mid-70’s when he and members of his side of the family had returned to his brother’s home after his brother’s funeral. It was then that said brother’s wife (a social climbing witch) decided to verbally unload on my dad, way beyond the pale, accusing him of every ill that had ever befallen her and/or her husband, up to and including the plagues of ancient Egypt. My dad drove himself home, having been a widower for several years. He was not a happy camper.

The house he had bought for himself to live in was older and modest. The ground was flat, and there was a driveway that ran straight down one side to a detached garage in the back. As was his habit, he parked on the driveway next to the side entrance to the house, got out, and went up the single step into the house. Inside the door, an immediate left turn took you into the kitchen, which my dad did. Unfortunately, he had forgotten to close the door on the built-in dishwasher, and in his distressed state, manged severely gash his left leg. So he wrapped a couple of towels around his leg, limped back out to his car, and drove himself to the ER. The ER staff were a bit aghast the he had. They stitched him up and he made a full recovery.

Side note. I’ve mentioned before that he was a B-17 pilot a flew 35 combat missions over Europe. He did not consider himself to be a warrior or any kind of hero. It’s just the way his generation was raised.

Bagged/frozen meats: No trust on what’s on the plate. Why can’t we expect fresh food when spending $30 -$50 a plate for a dinner out? I suspect if the general public knew what the restaurant supply business looked like behind the scenes, eating out would drop by half.
Back when Wife and I were into cat showing, the big ‘scandal’ was that McDonalds kept losing on bids for waste chicken meat (meat blown off carcasses using a pressure sprayer) to the cat food companies. So ‘bagged’ meat surprises me not at all. Wouldn’t surprise me if some big chain sit-down restaurants don’t do the exact same thing (looking at you, Olive Garden.)

Though a company cooking a bunch of steaks using the bagged and hot water method and then tossing on the grill for the final sear wouldn’t bother me. That is, if I ever eat in a restaurant again. Probably not, until maybe I’m single for negative reasons.
Olive Garden has used bagged meat for a long time with painted on char marks.
