People still ask me why I ride a Ducati Diavel, and it’s phrased like this, “Don’t you think that you’re too old to ride that street monster?”

My answer is, “no.”

    1. Today is a garage day for me, but I might take the She Devil out for a short romp just to clear the baffles. It’s quiet up here at the White Wolf Mine, but then again it’s always quiet. If a vehicle drives down the road, it’s a cause for excitement because they do so seldom.

I took the canoe to Woods Canyon Lake yesterday and spent two hours paddling. The lake is beautiful and people from Phoenix mob the place on the weekends, but during the week, it’s fun and on hardball road rather than rough mountain roads. The Goshawks were diving on fish. There is a family of well over a dozen of them and they harvest a lot more trout than people like me, who have to rely on line and a spinner.

  1. That sure does look like a nice climb, when I was half this old!

  2. “Just down the street from the house”

I do believe spending time in county like that truly helps restoreth the soul, reminding us that we are all a part of something bigger. I miss that where we live now.

    1. That sort of country has its own spiritual significance. I’m not one of those people who wear crystals, or barks at the moon, but the place has its own presence. It’s a great place for the walk, especially during monsoon when the lightning flashes in late summer and the heavens open and rain falls. The mountain flowers bloom and the place is fragrant.

    1. And the day will come when I can’t. You have to go for it while you can. Make hay while the sun shines.

  3. Sometimes “Because it’s there” isn’t sufficient.
I really had to chuckle at the first one.
Would have to try that lake.

And if only it HAD been the war to end all wars.

You all be safe and God bless.

    1. You hang in there, LindaG, and make some of those small cucumbers into pickles. They keep forever and they taste darn good.
