I liked Carlson, had some terrific interviews and positions…and…used to be back when…Owens made sense. Not anymore. Carlson has reverted to his younger self roots, maybe the bow tie will show back up. My advice: “Tucker, more fishing, less chatter…enjoy your life.”
Tucker is a trust fund baby. It doesn’t guarantee failure, but he never had to work a day in his life. A friend of mine with money (flew me to St. Lucia on vacation, chopper from the airport to the hotel, etc.) told me that he resolved not to burden his children with money. He’s a smart man who loves his kids, all of whom made it just fine without his money.
It’s too bad, always found Carlson insightful…maybe was real, maybe was a schtick.

No idea what the Canadian army is like now but back in the 80’s we had a Canadian Ranger Captain assigned to us in Australia.
He was above the Artic Circle in 4 feet of snow when their CO came up and said the person who was going to Australia broke his leg, your it. He arrived 36 hours later about 4 hours before we deployed to Northern Australia at the start of summer. Kept up with us for the whole couple of months. Don’t think they have many left like that.
The numbers I’ve seen indicate about 10,000 Americans ran off to Canada to avoid the draft during Viet Nam, whilst 40,000 Canookians joined the American military during the same period, a net gain of a couple divisions more or less, eh?

Last I studied it (admittedly many years ago), the circulating iron and Ni-Fe ‘magmas’ are multiple currents generating warring magnetic fields of varying strength. Very Complex interactions to the point that reliable predictions based on them couldn’t be made. Inferences by observation of the magnetic poles movement/strength is a more reliable predictor.
Also keep in mind that periodically the magnetic fields reverse polarity and there’s no consensus on how long we have an effectively zero magnetic field protecting the planet. We do know it isn’t an instant changeover. Quickie suntan indeed.
Yes, historically there have been weird things going on in the core (or cores) that reverse polarity. The magnetic strength radiating from the core is not evenly distributed across the globe. There have been detailed studies done, peer reviewed, and nobody has a firm grasp on the cause of it.
Back around the end of September, I ran into a piece that had a map showing magnetic north’s wanderings since 200AD and it’s pretty amazing. It’s spirals almost all the way and the most recent spots are getting close to where it was “a few hundred” AD. The resolution of the measurements has gotten better and it’s hard to match positions to the years.

I was thinking about reaching out to Larry Corriea to see if he’d give me a reference to his art people but I don’t know if he’d respond. I want a professional job. Any ideas on who to reach out to? I don’t want the covers to cost more than I take in with the completed series… though that’s a possibility.

As to believing military pilots, well, MilPilots are trained to be observant… for threats. So they see something funky and it must be a plane or missile or… a legitimate UFO (can they identify it? No? UFO.) They and their planes’ cameras can be fooled. A bird, seen from a fast mover, looks like it’s standing still, then getting closer and then maneuvers away in a ridiculous way. Because observing from a fast mover makes slow moving targets look weird (try duck hunting from a fast moving pickup or a helicopter or a Cessna. Things moving look weird when you’re moving.
