** (Sermonette) LSP and I frequently discuss these issues on the phone in the evening. So where are you? Do you need more reformation, or do you identify with the current Pope (Society of Jesus)?
** When I say, “The other day,” I could refer to any time between yesterday and 15 years ago.
** If you’re sitting in public (a movie theater works best) and a stranger sits next to you, stare straight ahead and say, “Did you bring the money?”

** “ABC News and George (Stephy-the-Dwarf) Stephanopoulos have settled the defamation lawsuit brought by the incoming president, with the news network agreeing to pay $15 million in damages while issuing an apology. The lawsuit was first filed after Stephanopoulos claimed that Trump had “raped” E. Jean Carroll. The comment came during an interview with Rep. Nancy Mace.
Of course, the issue was that Trump has never been charged or convicted of rape criminally, nor has he been found liable for rape in any civil suit. Stephanopoulos made it up in an attempt to bait Mace, and it ended up being the basis of the now-settled civil suit against him and ABC News.”
A Nativity Scene at the US Capitol?
For the first time in history, a Nativity scene was displayed on the steps of the U.S. Capitol last Tuesday. The display, accompanied by prayer, Christmas carols, and a reading of the Christmas story, was made possible by a landmark federal court decision that granted Rev. Patrick Mahoney and his supporters the right to celebrate the Christmas season on Capitol grounds peacefully.
Held on the southeastern steps of the Capitol, the display culminated a legal battle (Mahoney v. United States Capitol Police Board, et al.) that began over a decade ago. Mahoney, director of the Washington, D.C.-based Christian Defense Coalition, was arrested for his attempts to read the Christmas story from the Bible and hold a Nativity display at the Capitol Christmas tree.
Mahoney’s comment: “Seven months ago, we would’ve been arrested for having this Nativity Display on the steps of the US Capitol. However, we won a historic federal lawsuit through the incredible work of the Center for American Liberty, which allowed us on the steps.”
Meanwhile, On Mike_C’s Turf
The Satanic Temple (based in Salem, Massachusetts, naturally) received a permit to erect a monument of yellow-eyed goat-headed Baphomet near the city’s Nativity scene by the Statehouse. This was done in the name of “pluralism.”
Baphomet was unveiled on Saturday night.
Police believe it was vandalized between early Sunday morning and Monday afternoon. Only the legs of the black mannequin remained upright. The torso was fallen, and the head decapitated.
A spokesman for Concord police confirmed that they responded to the scene Monday and could be investigating the incident as a hate crime.
31-13 The Force was with the Navy yesterday.

Identify the Aircraft
1
Hint: Twin-engine aircraft

2
It may be a difficult ID. Only two were built for use on aircraft carriers.

3
This tandem-wing aircraft was a precursor to a proposed naval carrier fighter.
It was named after a genus of dragonflies. Only one was built.

The End
Nativity scene at the Capitol; Mahoney and Center for American Liberty fought to ” keep Christ in Christmas ” for 10 yrs. How long would it take to win back the Orewellian renaming of monuments, bases, and disgraceful naming of ships?
“While we’re at it we need to rename the USNS Harvey Milk. Sorry but no red blooded American wants to serve on a ship named after a gay pedophile.” Dale Stark
The Milk, the Mertha, the Gabby Giffords (Commie/Dem congresswoman from AZ who was shot in the head by a fellow democrat and survived), etc. Base renaming, and so forth. I think that it’s important to put all of the LCS into the reserve fleet and stop counting them as actively serving warships. We built a lot and they’re all worthless. Having them tied up to an active navy dock gives the impression that we have greater numbers than we do. You could also mothball all of them. There are a lot of hills to die on for Pres. Trump and the DOGE crew. I’d let SECNAV deal with the navy problems for now.

Identify the Feature Film:
A. One of the Jungle Jim movies with Johnny Weismuller.
Good!
When he got a little too old and a bit pudgy to play Tarzan, Johnny Weissmuller took on another character named Jungle Jim in a series of B movies, as well as a TV series. I couldn’t tell you which film the still’s from.
I think that it was a promo still. Jungle Jim is the correct answer.
For a different take on Santa Claus you need to read the Dresden Files…
Odin is literally Saint Nicholas in the Dresden Files series, makes for a different Santa in the off season..
I like an Odin Santa! At least the concept. I’ll check out the Files.
Then there’s Santa from the Finnish film “Rare Exports.”
Massachusetts… they forgot to drive a wooden stake in its heart and shoot it with a silver bullet… perhaps even set it on fire might have been helpful. One can’t be too careful with this sort of stuff…
Burning would have added arson to the charges, but your point is well made.
Re: The investigation. I am Spartacus!
The purpose of Christmas (particularly in America) is Christmas.
I see the “… erect(ion) a monument of yellow-eyed goat-headed Baphomet near the city’s Nativity scene…” as provocative as the Ground Zero Mosque..
OTOH: I’d personally be very happy, were I in a position, to approve, of this goaty statue (and its placement) on the same day that Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud approves of the erection of 30 foot hanukiah to be lit every night throughout Hannukah in al-Ka’ba al-Musharrafa
Your point is well made.
and not just in the U.S.
“On Sunday, December 8th, 11,000 Syrian migrants entered the Christmas market in Essen, Germany, chanting ‘Allahu Akbar’ and firing shots.”

H/T to Ward Clark @ Red State
in the (near?) future, will (Concord Salem?), MA require their residents to permit this type of intrusive aggression just to demonstrate their tolerance?
the way I define tolerance was still being asked to go caroling with the Coogan family after my voice changed.
>The purpose of Christmas (particularly in America) is Christmas.
I endorse this wholeheartedly, even as a nonbeliever. People need to not mess with this, whether in Germany, or here in the US.

>11k invaders acting badly.
Yep. That’s what happens when a people allows itself to be crushed spiritually.
Horrible as Imperial Japan was, I (as a second-generation victim [/sarc]) am glad the Japanese did not learn to crawl like that. There is not a Japanese person in any position of power today who was personally responsible for the atrocities of Imperial Japan. There may not be any Japanese now alive who participated in mass rape; who performed horrible and cruel “medical” experiments on civilians in Manchuria under Unit 731; who bayonetted infants or had beheading contests in Nanking. Punishing current Japanese for what (some of) their ancestors did, and what their then government did, would be not only morally wrong, but stupid.
So back to Germany. The question is whether they’ve been crushed to permanent deformation, or if the energy is stored, as in a giant spring. Because if it’s the latter, if and when blowback comes, it’s going to be ugly. Which is why punishment of a people ad aeternum is stupid.
—
Re punishment of whoever destroyed the Baphomet display. It would be funny, and fitting, and send a good political message if whoever did it was ticketed for littering. Period. No other charges. After all, they did leave the pieces on the street.
Planned Parenthood should just go ahead and acknowledge their real masters and put up a shrine and statue for said master, either Baal or Baphomet. Be even better if the shipping slot was through the body of said statue.

Truth in advertising after all.

And, no, not serious. Though you think they’d be happy to publicly celebrate, no?
And in true Trump fashion, that $15M from ABC news et al will not go to his pocket, but to his Presedential Library (or equivalent) fund. There’s an additional $1M for his lawyers.
Regarding the Nativity Scene at the Capitol building – that’s a trough decision. First Amendment states that Congress cannot restrict such freedoms, but says nothing about unelected idiots making up their own rules. They’re the ones that should be made responsible and examples.
And if you want a creepy Santa, read “The Laundry Files #3.5 – Overtime”, by Charles Stross. Better, read his whole series from the start…
I don’t think Joe has the mental acuity to pardon anyone. Since he’s mentally unfit to be prosecuted, can his pardons be considered null? I would think the answer would be a yes, but time will only tell if anyone makes an effort to go that route. I would enjoy watching that spectacle, and buy a bottle of expensive bourbon for the occasion.
He’s up to 1,800+ pardons to date, with another few thousand pending—the most of any president. Trump 45 saw about 250 pardons.
My Line I tell Folk is “Glad your Here, The Chipper Broke and I have 3 bodies left to Deal With ,Follow me to Lend a Hand .
If you use this with Telemarketers They Never Call Back
Heh. Mine was, “Hang on a second…”Guido, give me a second here while I finish with dis guy and I’ll help you move those two bodies to the pickup.”…now where were we?”
A. I think its Jungle Jim with Johnny Weissmuller( not Tarzan)
You’re right.
Yay Navy!!! So much for records (again) when it comes to Army/Navy… LOL
i think i figured out why the left is so quiet. just saw a rogan interview of the lady that found bin laden. she says there are over 1k al q fighters here, all trained for a specific attack. intel suggests wave attacks like oct7. they don’t know when or where. i think its going to be the inauguration. think about it. how on earth could ss stop a concerted wave attack complete w/ suicide vests and heavy weps? what a shock that would be. lord i hope somebody is awake at the helm and considering that possibility. i know, sounds silly, but pearl harbor was a surprise to some people too.
Yeah Sarah Adams is something else. She’s brilliant and all that info is in her head just to be able to rattle off all those names is amazing to me. I watched all three Shawn Ryan interviews and did not know she did one with Rogan i will have to find it.
it was ryan, senior moment…but it was like a lightning strike to my brain. that’s the way i’d do it, overwhelming force. the whole world changes in a few seconds. i feel like nastradamus, lol. i’ve said before i want to go back to being clueless, but i’ve been watching this crap play out since i was in grade school. too many trips to the library. oh well, won’t be long now.
Kurt Schlichter. The Attack.
Amazing book Ed, thanks for the recommend.
“A Nativity Scene at the US Capitol?”
OK with that but now every oddball cult calling itself a “religion” is going to want to do the same thing.
This country was started as a Christian-based country with the idea Christianity wouldn’t become a mandatory state-religion such as existed in Europe (and by the Muslims). Just because one was allowed to practice their own religion here was not intended to mean this wasn’t to be a Christian country with faith in God and the Bible (my preference is KJV; YMMV). The troubles came because too many yahoos became “tolerant” for the sake of tolerance, who cares what is being tolerated – and decided the state should have no religion. Religion intimately tied to morality, we’ve also dumped morality – giving us the likes of the society of today. May Merry Christmas always celebrate the birth of Christ and Christian ideals, forget the “Happy Holidays” crowd … and I don’t even really consider myself Christian.
Charlie Brown’s Christmas should be available to all as a national treasure and statement of the country’s ideals.
Alongside this: If that entity some refer to as The Pope represents God’s presence on Earth, then I’m forced to reject either God or the concept of Catholicism. Sorry LSP.
Getting ornery this what-may-be-our-last holiday season.
God rest ye, merry gentlemen.
Aren’t there any criteria for a pardon or can you just pardon anyone? Since I am Canadian I thought a pardon had to be for something specific.
Gerald Ford pardoned Nixon for unspecified crimes after Watergate.
It cost him reelection.
Biden doesn’t have to worry about that.
Biden will move from the White House to a care facility where he’ll sit, watch the magic show with the other inmates and eat his pudding. He may recall at times that he was President but none of the other residents will believe him because they already have Napoleon, Cleopatra and Tinker Bell living there.
It’s supposed to be specific, and you’re supposed to be convicted. Likely the blanket pardons will hold up in court but they may make their way to the US Supreme Court and we’ll see how they call it. The President can only pardon for federal crimes. They can still be charged in state courts for violations.
My prayer on all accounts.

You know it’s “science fiction” when the white one has the vastly bigger tuchus.
Not that StarWars was ever science fiction. (Yes, I have my helmet on … Incoming!)
Friendzoners – at some point I decided not to waste any time or energy on gals who lied that easily.
Ah, the current Pontiff who sits on the Chair of Peter.
There’s judgement in that, I think. In similar vein, Archbishop of Canterbury Justsin Welby had to resign the other day because he’d effectively covered up a pedo scandal. Not a good day for the Trav and Eton.
But seriously, and per phone convos, we must work and work hard at presenting a united front against the GloboHomo Rainbow Autocracy, they used to call it “secularism,” that threatens the whole world.
We need, in short, a united Church. Perhaps necessity will bring it about.
Yep.
X2…Jesus would be tossing tables.
