Where Should the UN go?
Many Americans feel that the UN is a vehicle for paying communists and other despots and giving these creeps both a platform and a voice. Housing a palace for spies in New York City was never a good idea and is less so now. If it’s moved out, where should it go? I think that the most politically correct place might be Botswana. The US taxpayers don’t need to be a part of the new African construction when we repo the old Rockefeller property and give it back to whomever.
As the global elites are working to start a third world war before Pres. Trump takes office, and peace breaks out.
KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Ukraine fired six American-supplied longer-range missiles at Russia’s Bryansk region, Moscow said Tuesday, in what would be Kyiv’s first use of the weapons inside Russia in 1,000 days of war.
The reported use of the Army Tactical Missile System, known as ATACMS, came as Russian President Vladimir Putin formally lowered the threshold for using nuclear weapons, opening the door to a potential nuclear response by Moscow to even a conventional attack by any nation supported by nuclear power. That could include Ukrainian attacks backed by the U.S.
A Telegram channel affiliated with the Ukrainian military posted a video Tuesday that it says shows U.S.-supplied ATACMS missiles being fired from an undisclosed location in Ukraine. The Associated Press could not independently verify the date and location the video was filmed.
The question I ask is, “Why now?” Maybe a nuclear strike in Ukraine by Russia would help to cover up the skulduggery of Pedo Joe’s regime? One thing is sure. We must change how things in the US are done and accounted for because the lawless Biden years have been dangerous.

This comes over the transom from a former co-worker who sometimes reads the blog but hasn’t posted yet.
Calutrons were super strong electromagnets that separated the uranium 235 from the base uranium powder. The physicists thought they would have more physicists to man these calutrons, but they ended up hiring high school graduate girls to do the job as they had the required focus to do the job. A friend of mine’s mother-in-law was one of the Calutron girls living and working in Secret City. They were picked up to be bussed to work, and curtains were kept closed so the workers couldn’t see how to get to their workstations or anything that might be useful to foreign agents. General Grove had access to just about anything he needed to support the Manhattan Project, but he couldn’t get copper for the calutrons. The scientists named other metals that were good electrical conductors, leading General Grove to request tons of silver from the Federal Reserve. He was told that they only measured silver by Troy ounces. Grove told the treasury man to do the conversion and send him the needed material. The calutron magnets were made with silver that was melted and cast into bars wound around the electromagnets’ core.

I know that Jules has, but I don’t know how often she drifts past the blog. It’s in the San Juan Mountains, and I go there almost every year in my 4×4 for a week or ten days. I don’t stay in Ouray the whole time, but I run the trails and hang out in the area between Durango, Ouray, Lake City, and Telluride.

The wife and I are headed to Doge City on Saturday to see ZZ Top in concert. Maybe we will see Paul M there? A friend of mine grew up in Liberal, Kansas, and the bearded boys played at their prom in the early 70’s, probably 73. Not positive oh the date, but they hadn’t really gone global at that point. They were just playing their way through the panhandle.
One of my few regrets, Earnest Tubb was playing on a flatbed trailer just 3 miles north of me shortly before his death, and I didn’t take the time to see him before it was too late. Trying not to let that happen again.
I’m a massive fan of ZZ Top. Great band. Soon they’ll pass from the stage.
RIP Dusty Hill 1949-2021. He played cello in high skool and worked at the DFW airport for three years when the band went on hiatus.

Once, about 30 years ago, I was playing at a blues jam session here in Houston. I’d brought my guitar rig, but no bass players showed up on the list. So I went to the place where my band rehearsed and snagged a bass rig. I was the only one willing to play bass, so instead of 3 songs and off, I played for hours. This bearded guy showed up on a Harley, watched a set, and asked if he could join us. ‘Well yes, Mr Dusty Hill, it would be a privilege, and handed him the axe. ‘I’d love a chance to play with you, I’ve got my guitar right here!’ So I was allowed to play the rest of the night (NOT 3-and-off). with Dusty. Some years later I ran into Billy Gibbons, who was waiting for an art gallery to open. We talked for the better part of an hour. I mentioned the incident, and Billy told me that he remembered Dusty telling him about it. Said I had a good sound!

I just came back from Vancouver, BC and Seattle. The Hongcouver thing is well known, but there are a LOT of people from the Subcontinent as well. And sub-Saharan Africans. And MENA types. The demographics of British Columbia are a FAR cry from what I remember 30, 40 years ago. And don’t get me started on Ontario (Morontario). I WAS however shocked by how many obvious recent foreigners there are in the Seattle area. West Afrrican Muslims particularly struck me. (Though they tended to be MUCH better behaved than the native person of West African descent. Make of that what you will. The next generation will, unfortunately, devolve to fit in, I expect.) The demographics of the Puget Sound area are also adversely changed.

I just got on the train. Boarded early, found myself a nice seat. Then five minutes before the train was to leave, a wave of onions and garlic. I was thinking, “How rude to be eating stinky food on basically a shared aluminum tube!” I turned around to identify the miscreant and was hit, on top of the garlic and onion, hit by a wave of BO. The guy was directly behind me and not eating anything at all. He simply reeked of garlic and onions. And stale sweat. I thought about four hours breathing in that toxic mess and gave up my nice seat. Grrr. Now in a different car. About a half dozen East Asian teens are chattering away. But fairly quietly. The males are in suits and the girls in blazers. From the convo I think they were doing college interviews. They’re having a spirited discussion about the merits of different programs. I’d prefer quiet, but even I’m having a hard time working up too much annoyance over this earnest conversation. (Getting soft in my dotage. ☹️)

Ouray; passed through there after staying in a cabin in Silverton. We were traveling back to Oregon from a Texas wedding in 2021. Experiencing grandeur of the Rockies from the highway was breath taking. Seeing the 4×4’s and side by sides with their ability to explore the higher points of elevation and old mining operations keeps a return trip on the back burner.
Yes, the side-by-sides can be annoying. There is no getting past them, and the trails (besides one spot on Poughkeepsie) are generally well-maintained mining roads. They keep the winchpoint on Poughkeepsie as is so the swells can use their winches. I have stories about people on that particular location trashing their expensive rigs because they didn’t know how to drive, but they’ll keep for another day. Mostly it’s just driving up to 14,000 feet at Engineer Pass and enjoying the country. I pack a lunch or I eat at one of the mom/pop burger joints at Lake City.
Rode the mountain bike from Ouray to To-Hell-U-Ride over Imogene Pass…had Heeps slow-crawl passing me as parts were only walkable with my half suspension ride. Rolling downhill into Telluride I was half dead (since I wasn’t 20 anymore)…but the beer and pizza revived the system. Ouray mayor was the one and only CW McCall…really nice guy, 10-4 (RIP).
I was on Imogene pre-covid maybe 2018, and a dozen women (Amazons all) RAN past me as I was parked on the summit at 12000 feet. Color me weak and pathetic.

Well, there was that. When I was in my mid-20’s and actually fit, my girlfriend and I went to Mt Kinabalu park on Sabah. We were halfway up the trail when we were passed by a local woman who was probably about 90lbs with a wizened face. She was hauling a 40-lb propane tank (full weight 72lbs) by a TUMP LINE. In her ratty rope sandals she breezed past we two Americans with our Raichle (LaSportiva for the GF) hiking boots and fancy packs. What made it even better was that the old woman was smoking a villainous looking (and smelling) cheroot as she blew by us. Hahaha. Weekend warriors vs someone for whom that was just her daily life.

Yes. I’ve seen the first two episodes and enjoyed them. I relate to a lot of Taylor Sheridan’s writing and film production. The second season of Lioness hasn’t disappointed either. Yes, it’s a movie/series, not a documentary, so I chose to enjoy it rather than nitpick. Yellowstone is winding up with the back half of Season 5. Sheridan’s productions are some of the few I can tolerate. Yellowstone got a bit froggy, but I still watched it and want to see how it all comes out at the end.

Living in the remote country as I do, ordering crap on Amazon makes life easier because they deliver promptly. Thus I have Prime and barfing up for Paramount+ has been worth it because of the new productions this past month. Yellowstone is on regular cable TV. Criticize me if you must. I watch very little television normally, but I’ve watched more than usual with the election and some of the new productions.

Mike, I got sent something similar. I really hope you replied with that outstanding monologue! I replied: “That if I could have voted for RFKjr along with Pres Trump I would have! I deplore that state of medicine and healthcare this nation has descended too. You are not stepping up to fix this problem and he is. I suggest you shut up, take your medicine and put your big boy panties on.” I couldn’t extend my response because I ran out of space, funny how that is… You know you and me are going to be blacklisted and put on another list. You have to deal with AMA and your local medical licensure. I can speak my mind, I let my license expire, I wasn’t paying over 240 bucks a year to keep current. I enjoy missing the rat trap and DEI and woke medical “professionals.”
Cederq, my regular MD retired. He’d been my physician for 30 years and was outstanding. I trusted him. I now have his protige, who will retire in about three years. The protege is not as good, IMHO, but I was accustomed to the now-retired MD, and the protege has been helpful. All these doctors walk on eggshells now, hoping not to be wiped out by the system they work in. I discovered that my current MD is an amateur geologist whose passion is gold mining. He spends his weekends doing that, and I suspect that part of his office hours are spent doing research pertaining to his avocation. To gain his trust (at least in part), I gave him some locations to mine where I know that he will find gold in quantities to titillate the amateur miner. He could file claims on the area if he wants to. I don’t think that it’s commercially viable but I’ve been known to be wrong. Taking my advice he went to the location (about a 3 hour drive from his home) and found gold. Now, we spend a few minutes talking about my medical needs and the bulk of the time dealing with his ambitions as an amateur miner once he can leave the medical profession. Such is the state of medicine today.

To my mild surprise about 15 min later I received “Thank you for your time.” Quite civil, no? I was equally civil with “Well, bless your heart too 🥰🥰🥰”
