2. A chicken tractor hoop house on wheels. Brilliant! Much like rotational grazing for cattle. Other then hauling water, but a person could pump water to it.
   At the poultry unit at the cow college I attended, the elevated laying cages had just enough room under them for somebody to drive a small mower tractor with a dozer blade to clean up the mess. Whomever drew the short straw was awarded a rubber raincoat and hat and had several hours to ponder what he had done to get on the boss’s “list!”

   1. Great idea if the plan is to reduce chicken production.

   1. When my girls were young we were driving through Vegas on the freeway and stopped at Circus-Circus for the inexpensive buffet. Their plates included chicken. The two younger girls were still gleams in my eye, it was only the two older. They said, “Oooo, what’s in the chicken?” I said, “That’s a bone.” They asked, “What’s a bone doing in chicken?” Until then, they’d only had boneless, skinless chicken breast filets at home. I had to explain that chicken meat came from birds. They never connected the two. MRSLL and I were amused, but the girls were not. It’s strange how we take things for granted, and children are still exploring their worlds.

   Camping. Expectation weather forecast was 80 F and sunny. Reality was always 55 F, misty rain, breakfast dinner closed due to power outage.

   1. Given where I live, every day is a little like camping out. Except that I have forced air/heat, hot shower, soaking tub, chef kitchen, etc. This weekend it rained hard day/night on the campers who come up to the area where I live from the scorching Phoenix Valley and use all of my bandwidth. We’ve had a long monsoon and the place looks like the Pacific Northwest.

Been a strange Summer, July in June, September in August, hard rain last night after the FarmFest Bluegrass show (south about 60 miles)…yup, hanging with a bunch of Boulder older hippies…yet fun with friends (I needed some fun). Rained up here in the hinterland…pastures still green after a stunted hay season. But I feel that first snow will only be a few weeks away. Lots to do.

         1. Been a wet August here. We’ve received 2″ so far, but we only received 1/2″ in July. I think I’ll warm up the snowblower, change the oil, and put fresh gas in it…..

11. AI, or robots given AI to enhance their understanding and capability to become “more human”…what could possibly go wrong with that scenario? Next we’ll hear that all superior AI is coming out of a Wuhan wet market that got “released accidentally”. (How is that any different than the results/intent of a lab manipulated coronavirus that TPTB knew about beforehand? It’s not.)

    EdB…the guy is far away in Tennessee and still having boating troubles…and here I thought MrsEdB was an excellent backer-upper…so that leaves Ed as the faulty party (sorry Ed, pure observation).

    2. The wifi in the plant I’m in blocks FB. I tried to watch the second video “here, too” on my phone but it went to a different random video each time, each humorous but nothing to do with boating. I remoted into one of my home computers and tried to watch and the link appears bad.
       However, the one with the boat trailer separating reminds me of a story my dad told of taking his (now my) boat down I-75 with no motor installed.
       He was doing about 70 when the strap across the gunnels to the trailer broke loose.
       The boat began to float above the trailer. Before he could slow down, the winch gave and the boat played out like a kite.
       While he was considering this, a semi passed him and blew the boat over on it’s side. On it’s side, it lost it’s aerodynamic property (lift) and went down the asphalt with cars veering around him and it.
       A van stopped with some guys and a floor jack and they helped Dad get the hull back on the trailer.
       They left without accepting payment and Dad was walking around the the trailer making a last check when the state police pulled up and asked if everything was OK.
       Dad assured him it was and proceeded to the marina.
       You can still see the flattened rivets it rode on today.

       1. Well, you know what they say about boating mishaps/accidents/ etc…apples don’t fall far from the tree (Kidding! but seriously epic story Ed. Apparently “dad’ kept it cool). Obviously they built ’em better back then.

          Less sarcastically, I once had a very intelligent Somali Uber driver (SUD). He spoke educated American English without accent and had an extensive vocabulary. His wife was at the time a “refugee” in Sweden. She was receiving $3000 USD (equivalent) monthly in addition to housing and health care.
          SUD: That is not enough money to live in Sweden. They are treating her poorly. Despite their veneer of Socialism, the Swedes are racists.
          Also SUD: You Americans (meaning/including me; interesting, innit; Chinese are shocked and disgusted when I say I am American instead of Chinese. Later if they get to know me even a little bit, 90%+ are more than glad to exclude me from their ranks. But I digress. Anyway, from the top:) You Americans are ignorant of the rest of the world, of course. But you are also ignorant of your own history, which is foolish and unforgiveable. This is weakness. We will overwhelm and crush you because of your self-inflicted weaknesses: Ignorance, moral degeneration, pornography, laziness, irreligiosity. And you deserve to be crushed.
          The guy was just ranting on. It was an interesting ride from the airport to my house.
