So much for embracing military-age male sand people from savage lands who arrive with no job skills and sponge off their betters who feed and clothe them.
Bullet Points:
** Jordan Peterson – (American Thinker) Unwavering free speech heroes are hard to come by when the left is silencing their messages on social media, in entertainment, in the news, on campuses, and even on the streets. But Dr. Jordan Peterson is willing to go to jail before he will allow his speech to be interfered with, especially as it pertains to pronoun use and trans “misgendering.” He will not refer to a man in drag as “she,” and he refuses to use the “proper” pronouns for a woman who claims to be a man. He said he will never do it because, far from being free speech, pronoun use and “gendering” are in fact compelled speech.
Peterson lost his tenured job at the University of Toronto because he dared to swim across the deadly current of political correctness regarding pronouns. It is to his credit that he is now reaching millions more people online with his cultural, political, theological, and environmental opinions than he could ever have hoped to reach in the classroom.
** Pedo Joe is unhinged, but you knew that. – The truly baffling statement was Biden’s claims about the American Civil War/War of Northern Aggression. By leaving questions like abortion to the states, Biden claims that the court was reversing what was gained in that war. The criticism came in response to an opinion insisting that there is no place for racial discrimination in higher education. That would hardly seem an argument that would be embraced by the Confederacy.
** The other day Boron asked if America could be fixed. Certainly not when democrats cheer for Adam Schiff (D-CA) after being censured for abusing his power and lying to Americans about Russia for years or Hunter Biden getting away with felonies when comparable cases have resulted in years of incarceration for other Americans.
** Was it fatherly love that had Pedo Joe showering with his terrified teenage daughter?
** NATO Arming – (h/t Claudio) Never if not for Putin’s unprovoked invasion of Ukraine. “Europe’s piecemeal approach to air and missile defense at the national level is no longer a sustainable strategy,” the report said.
** In another blow to Joe Biden’s war on guns, a federal judge has reversed an ATF ban on so-called “ghost guns,” ruling that the president and his gun agency overstepped their jurisdiction.
On Friday, Texas-based United States District Court Judge Reed O’Connor said that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives went further than Congress in banning the partially made guns.
“This case presents the question of whether the federal government may lawfully regulate partially manufactured firearm components, related firearm products, and other tools and materials in keeping with the Gun Control Act of 1968,” wrote O’Connor. “Because the court concludes that the government cannot regulate those items without violating federal law, the court holds that the government’s recently enacted final rule … is unlawful agency action taken in excess of the ATF’s statutory jurisdiction. On this basis, the court vacates the final rule.”
The ruling is likely to be appealed by Justice. It follows on the lifting of a ban on so-called “bump stocks” and signals trouble for the administration’s latest effort to ban AR-style pistols that use an adjustable brace.
In this case, ATF said that uncompleted or unfinished gun parts are guns and can be regulated. The court said parts aren’t guns under the law.
“The issue, in this case, is whether ATF may properly regulate a component as a ‘frame or receiver’ even after ATF determines that the component in question is not a frame or receiver. It may not. Logic dictates that a part cannot be both not yet a receiver and receiver at the same time. Defendant’s reliance on that logical contradiction is fatal to their argument,” wrote the judge.
At issue are kits that require a purchaser to complete to turn parts into a gun. Typically they are 80% finished and require drilling and assembly before they become weapons. Because they aren’t guns in the legal definition, they do not carry serial numbers, and background checks are not required to buy one.

It’s how they party in Alaska. We have to come up with something like that in Arizona. Maybe dropping them off the Mogollon Rim?
Politically Incorrect? In some circles, I guess.

Getting Ready for Dune 2
Identify the Aircraft

Identify the Aircraft:
Curtiss XF14C
XF14C-2 to be precise.
Precisely!
On MI-2: I laughed out loud when I saw the yellow Fiat 500 (a historic car nowadays, I used to drive it’s slightly larger successor in my student days), and laughed even harder when I saw it driving at full speed (not much) below my wife’s former school in Rome. We can’t wait to see it.
Dune 2 appears to be very close to its source material. And Denis Villeneuve is very good.
Dune 1 was visually stunning and yes, I think that they tried to keep it close to the book.
With the sole exception of the Atreides dinner party scene which was cut, Dune 1 is the finest ever adaptation of any Science Fiction novel.
Atreides security leaves much to be desired, if one traitor sufficed to bring them down.
Leto Atreides, done in by the Fauci of his day. It reminds me of what John Wayne’s character in The Horse Soldiers had to say about doctors.
X2
They trusted “the system” and the doctor’s conditioning through that system. Many do that now to their own detriment.
Only a Democrat/Lefty would conflate a part as an assembly. Apparently to them words now have no definition…might as well toss out Webster’s book if words are fluid…or in today’s parlance, transitory.
Haven’t seen Dune, might give it a look. Saw this on Cruise’s bike jump stunt…gotta give him serious props for having the guts to do this, but it’s nothing new for him:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LPkmeY-0w0
Say what you will of him, Cruise has balls and his movies are fun to watch and are successful in a woke industry that struggles to produce anything worth watching.
What you do tells me who you are, telling me what you do says little.
Then again, if I got paid millions to work out, stay in shape, have professional trainers, etc…while reciting lines ain’t a bad gig if you can do…and he does it in spades, sticking to the industry basics, never forgetting he is in the movie entertainment business, not the social justice business….the idea is to entertain and make money.
“Schiff” which may arise from the Yiddish שיף which probably comes from the German noun Schiff meaning ship or it may arise from the Yiddish שיף which probably comes from the German adjective schief meaning crooked, lopsided, distorted.
He would certainly float and ethically it appears that the House has found him about as straight as a pretzel, so I’ll leave the multitude of possible interpretations to you.
He’s one of the most contemptible in a field of highly corrupt and contemptible politicians in Washington DC today. So the name definitely fits.
Adam is not a good person, but I’m thinking that he’s got a ways to go before he equals the harm deliberately and maliciously wrought by Jacob Schiff.
The question of whether Vlad the Impaler is worse than Genghis Khan is somewhat rhetorical. I have difficulty answering that one. I think that it depends on where you’re standing. The bankers – Schiffs, Warburgs, Rothchilds were in a position to do more harm than Adam Schiff. I’m sure that if you gave him a pre-income tax bank, Adam Schiff would equal his namesake.
I don’t know I think Vlad might have had one up on Genghis. Feared by his unbelievable cruelty he was a very successful leader. even beloved by many he ruled over some people say. However Genghis on horseback wielding a sword is pretty frightening. Not to mention his surgical bow capabilities.
funny – I’d been told (many moons ago, so my memory could be faulty) that Jacob Schiff was not in favor of any of the Russian communists, but instead was backing the Kerensky government – very heavily. A lot of the (dis?)information that persisted over the years (wonder why?) was provided by British and American Military Intelligence.
Maybe so re Kerensky, but my problem with Jacob Schiff is what he did (loans) on behalf of Imperial Japan that made possible Japan’s military adventures. Schiff probably mainly intended to screw Tsarist Russia (which worked), but the broader effects also badly screwed ordinary Russians, and both China and Korea.
Pre-WW2, the US Intelligence machine was not the behemoth that it is today. It consisted of a military intelligence network that had a modest budget. The British were the masters of the craft and the Sun didn’t set on their empire. The Royal Navy ruled the seas. The RAF was internationally formidable.
Schiff made hard money loans to a modern industrialized (yet somewhat medieval) empire that allowed them to expand into their co-prosperity sphere. He wasn’t prescient, yet there was a concept of nobles oblige in that era that Schiff didn’t buy into in the least. He moved pieces around the board, making a profit. It must have been fun to be a secret king, taking no responsibility for the carnage.
Would the carnage have happened had Schiff and others not pulled the strings? That’s a question for the ages and the rearview mirror is a comfortable place to view things from.
That video from Alaska was EPIC AND HILARIOUS!
Thanks for the morning laugh, Larry.
The Alaskans know how to through an Independence Day party.
Heard the Top Gear/Grand Tour boys were impressed.
They just wish that THEY were launching the cars. — I can relate.
Ghost gun, makes me want to make one…just cause.
Alaska. Gotta do something when it is too light outside for fireworks to be really impressive. Driving cars off of cliffs works. Cleanup must be a pain though.
Dune. Enjoyed the book, might give the movie a try when it comes out on Blu-ray. Although usually I find the differences between my imagination when I read the story and what shows up on the screen kinda jolting though.
Schiff/Hunter Biden. Shows what “justice” in America is about these days. Unfortunately it is more and more about who you are and where you stand politically/socially rather than if you are actually guilty of something or not.
Ghost guns. Just how many people have the skills and tools to complete one? Criminals? Nah, too easy to steal what they want. Those with the skills are the least likely to use one for criminal purposes outside of,
“Don’t tread on me”.
Ah, when have gun grabbers ever used logic, or common sense, or even know what the hell they are talking about?
Only two-hundredths of one percent of all firearms are ever used in a crime.
The USGOV has an open border program. How many fully automatic weapons do the cartels move across the open border and sell for a greater profit than drugs every day. Have Pedo Joe answer that question.
How many doses of fentanyl crossed the border while Pedo Joe was raping his daughter in the shower? I want that stat, plz.

X3. The pedophile in the Oval Office is FULLY supported by the Dems, half the R’s, and a good chunk of the Country who mostly reside in cities. Says everything about “what one does that tells you who they are”. Disgusting.
Most guys without a mill or CNC will buy a jig for the model pistol they hope to complete.
Most often a Glock.
Then a hand drill and router is sufficient.
What I don’t understand is why the idiot government people think a gun w/o a number on it is more dangerous than a gun with one.
Pretty sure no crime has ever been prevented by a number.
It’s not as though criminals have any difficulty whatsoever sourcing serialized guns to commit crimes with; the US is awash in guns. There’re billions of them, probably literally.
Just seems like a weird thing to obsess over, instead of, say, actually putting the criminals way for more than a few months at a time.

Jordan Peterson didn’t say he’d never use the wrong pronouns. What he said was that Canadian Bill C-16 requiring him to use incorrect pronouns was compelled speech and therefore illegal. His position was that he might personally choose to use biologically incorrect pronouns to any particular individual, as a matter of courtesy, but that the choice to do so or not was a matter of individual conscience on the part of the speaker, and not something that the govt should be involved in. JP isn’t and never was “conservative” in the sense the word is misused for politics now. He was more a Classical Liberal (which people now mis-call conservative or even “fascist”). And good for him. In a decent world I’d be classical liberal too. But this fallen world calls for a less tolerant and harder-edged world view. It’s a genuine pity where decency and forbearance are misinterpreted as weakness.
JP’s old videos (when he was “just” a professor, are great. He continued to do good work after he began to get famous, also. The conversation with Camille Paglia is an example. But after he joined The Daily Wire? Man’s changed, not necessarily for the better. It’s a shame.
Unprovoked invasion? Typical neocon trick of pushing and pushing (overthrowing a foreign govt falls under “pushing”) then crying innocence when they finally get a reaction. “Putin did this For No Reason At All!” other than out of personal evil will. Never any reason. So yet another Brother War. And of course a banker’s war. Im not a Putin fan, but the neocons are much, much worse people.
The Japanese appear to be quite fond of stirring German martial music and imagery. (There’s even an anime called Girls und Panzer about a girls school where tank warfare is considered good training for young women. But I digress.) There’s a big part of my job where it’s “highly skilled” but really mostly pattern recognition. So I tend to listen to music or have video playing in the background while doing those tasks. Projects therefore have “private names” depending on what I mostly listened to at the time. So there’s the Outlaw Country projects, the Patricia Janečkova stuff, and so forth. There’s also the German martial music projects. (Some of which sounds surprisingly good sported up a la nightcore 😳.)
Speeded up. No idea what “sported up” ducking (sic) means.
Girls und Panzer – not just German:

Saw elsewhere that Netflicks is planning on making their own version of Narnia.
That’s scary.
Staring Big Mike and Barack Obama.
That’s REALLY scary.
Even if they did, as they have, the real question for me is Who watches this sort of lame garbage?
Oh my, RHSM, you’ve posted my fave version of PANZERLEID.
WELL DONE.
I’ll be sure to back it up.
DLC all in.
