Life on the Rim
Living atop the Mogollon Rim in Arizona provides interesting insights. I take a great deal for granted. I couldn’t have done this as I have ten years ago. Technology has made the world accessible from even more remote locations in North America.

By way of example. There’s a guy who lives completely off the grid near me. A week or so ago, I invited him to go off the mountain where there are no stores, gas stations, or anything to get lunch. So we left the mountain and went to a place in Strawberry, Arizona that could be described fairly as a dive bar with pub food. It was about 40 minutes from the mine by truck. I ordered a hamburger and he ordered a buffalo burger. They serve elk, venison, and a ground javelina burger too. His sandwich arrived and he asked where the hot sauce was. He had been thinking about buffalo chicken, which he’d had a few years ago somewhere, not a bison.
His window on the world is very different from mine and yours. He was raised in the mountains. Not in a cave, but close. He doesn’t have heated water and bathes in water hand-pumped from a well when it’s not frozen.
The Offer
I’ve been asked to act in a feature film and to play myself. Should I do it or should I take a pass? I was younger when the actual events in the film, were based on actual events. No, I’m not a piano player in a whorehouse.
Identify the Aircraft

Identify the “lifting bodies”

there are hints…
Median Annual Income in Each State, Adjusted for Cost of Living

Meme-of-the-Day

Bullet Points:
** BRM asks that USGOV not piss down his back as the nation slides deeper into the financial abyss.
** CW announces the arrival of the next Ice Age. See, stopping all of those lawnmowers and backyard BBQs worked!
** Old NFO on liberals picking and choosing which laws they will and will not obey.
** This Gecko has been trapped in amber for 54 million years. The mishap explains why cavemen didn’t have car insurance.
** Moses was the first person to download files from the cloud using a tablet.
** “History belongs to the victors, legends to the people, glory to the brave, and fantasy to literature. Only death is certain.” – Péter Esterházy

The aircraft is a Gloster Gladiator, and the lifting bodies are the Martin Marrietta X-24A, the Northrop M2-F3, and the Northrop HL-10 (which Col. Steve Austin famously crashed in, only to be rebuilt better, faster, stronger).
Wow, you beat out Surly. Well done indeed!
So if a stunning and brave transwoman wrestler gets an erection while wrestling an actual biological girl, does “she” still get to choose “her” pronouns?
My proposal about that is both simple and modest (in the Swftian sense). You wanna complete against girls as a “female?” Sure, go right ahead — after we remove all your male genitalia, fully taxpayer funded*. Also, mandatory ridiculously large breast implants.
*yeah, yeah, I know. But we already pay for so many stupid and frankly harmful things, the cost of this stuff would merely be a rounding error in the total budget.
Only if the person had to pay both the full amount of the original transition and the full amount to transition back to whatever their birth sex was if they ever decided to change their mind and reverse the surgery.
I don’t believe we are having a vast epidemic of people who are not sure of their sex. It is more likely a twisted education system that is behind this mess.
Nope. Just nope. A man transitioned into a female still has all the hormonal, muscular, neural and structural things that intact men have.
You can do a lopitoffamy, put more hormones in than you’d find in a Puerto Rico chicken, let the head hair grow while shaving everything else off, and put in a ring against and equal height and weight female, the man will win if both are similar in technique and form.
Want to do something? Start an ‘Other’ classification. Men’s Sports, Women’s Sports, Others’ Sports. That’s the most I’d allow. To compete in Men’s and Women’s, you have to have the correct chromosomes.
Easy fix – just cut off one limb related to the relevant athletic pursuit of Xir’s choice, along with the cock and balls. Head removal also accepted.
Instant athletic fairness achieved.

Classes: stock, unlimited, street, funny, drag?
Actually, that would work.
Brilliant!

Re feature film: I’d prefer you write your memoirs. But definitely do the movie star thing. Do you get to choose the leading actress?
+1 on the memoirs; it would be a great read.
I caution you against playing your younger self in a movie.
We’ll see how it all goes. They seem serious about it. I suggested that they cast a fat Oprah to make it a more racially correct version of me.
I do, however, look forward to the movie.
Not the piano player…door security guard?
Or could have worked in the oil patch. An inside joke to them what did it, which I did, proudly.
Yes, L-L, do it, take the job, but don’t go all Holly-weird on us.
I’d need a posse to accompany me to my personal appearances.
On it. retired RN. Combat trained. 2 different blackbelts. I think 3rd Dan in both. Happy t provide.
Hope you choose wisely as to whether to act or not. Will be interesting to see what project it is that you may or may not be acting.
Worse that happens if you do it is it will make you eligible for a Screen Actor’s Guild card. Which will, once people connect who you are to who you… are, piss a lot of SAGgers off.
Have you ever had piano lessons?
Yes, I played a long time ago.
I think I’d have to agree with Ed. But who would be your stunt double? Would that make the movie safer?
Do not have the same weapons master that was on “Rust”.
I got the Gloster Meteor and thought of Faith, Hope, Charity and Malta.
It must be quite a thing to live in the highlands and I’m pleasantly envious. Mind you, my little compound’s good too and I wouldn’t swap it for the city, though a flat in Bloomsbury would be helpful. Close to everything and still a community(s).
